The UNIBA Partners’ network is constantly evolving; new Partners join, IDMs and Senior Contacts change. Although we have the chance to see each other face-to-face, most of the time we are meeting behind our laptops. And in this online environment you might have missed a new Partner joining or a contact changing, right? Through this article-series we will make sure that that doesn’t happen anymore! In ‘Breaking the ice’ we will introduce new Partners, their specialisations, and, perhaps even more importantly, the people behind it.
This month, we introduce our newest partner in Poland, Polish Brokers Group (PBG), through insights from Paweł Karcz, Konrad Rogalski, and Wiktoria Szubierajska.
First things first: who are you and what do you do?
Paweł Karcz: I'm Pawel Karcz, Vice President of Polish Brokers Group. We're an independent insurance broker operating in Poland. We started eight years ago as a small two-person company. Now we’re a team of over 100 and rank around 16th in the Polish broker market.
Konrad Rogalski: I’m also Vice President at PBG. From the beginning, our idea was to combine deep international expertise with local flexibility and that’s exactly what we’ve done. We’re now the fastest organically growing insurance broker in Poland.
Wiktoria Szubierajska: I’ve been with PBG for two years now. It’s a great experience to be part of this dynamic team and to contribute to the company’s international growth.
Why is international business so important to you?
Konrad: We serve around 800 clients in Poland, many of whom operate abroad. Supporting them internationally is a natural extension of our service. Many of us, including myself, have a background in international brokers like Marsh, GrECo, and JLT — so we know how cross-border business works and how to deliver better, more flexible service than the large multinationals.
Paweł: We see ourselves as both a producing and servicing broker. Many of our Polish clients are expanding into international markets and we need strong partners abroad to support them. At the same time, we’re servicing international clients in Poland, where we handle everything that doesn’t fall under global programs — especially in property, construction, and surety. Poland is still under construction, literally, so capacity is a key challenge. We also benefit from exchanging ideas with more mature markets.
