UNIBA’s Bangkok Blog: Your glimpse into the upcoming agenda & leisure programme

Our Worldwide Conference is less than 60 days away! It's time to offer you a glimpse into our updated agenda, so you can see first-hand what the ’Changing Face of Risk’ has in store for you.
Registered participants can also see full details on the event page
here.

  • Day 1: October 25 – Networking Excursion and Dinner

As always, we begin our time together with an informal networking excursion to get to know Bangkok, while also allowing some much needed catch up with one another.

We'll visit Pak Klong Talad, Bangkok’s oldest and busiest wholesale market, go on a Tuk-Tuk tour of Rattanakosin Island with its Emerald Buddha Temple and Grand Palace, the former residence of the kings of Chakri Dynasty and, of course, enjoy lunch at a local Thai restaurant. We'll have time to take in the  famous Reclining Buddha before we come back to the hotel for a rest. And then it will be time for the traditional Welcome Cocktail and Dinner!

Price for excursion & lunch: +/- EUR170.00 per person

  • Day 2: October 26 – First Day of the Conference

The conference opens with a Partners Only session to present the Stewardship Report and the 2024 Budget.
Keynote Speaker Osten Olorunsola will then set the tone for a strategic exploration of the Changing Face of Risk.

What technology investments will brokers need to make going forwards? Andrew McBean (Grant Thornton) will discuss how brokers can evaluate the strategic benefits of investing into process automation and/or AI.

Strategic thinking also drives our two risk management sessions:

Robert Ebel (ARISCO) and Graeme Hay (Barrack Broking) will provide a process and specific examples for offering clients "risk management as a service", while Zurich Resilience Solutions' Mervyn Rae will discuss how brokers can support clients with a Cyber prevention package.

One-on-one meetings will conclude a full first day. Afterwards we'll all finally be able to relax during a dreamy boat ride to dinner at the Never Ending Summer.

  • Day 3: October 27 -Second Day of the Conference

Building upon the momentum of the previous day, the second day of the Conference will be hands-on, focusing on actionable ideas. We kick off with presentations on ‘Where will the world grow’ and ‘Climate Resilience’ respectively by  Mohit Rahlan, TWI Group, and Amar Rahman, ZRS.

Targeted breakout sessions on this day will focus on Risk Management and Marketing. All sessions are designed to help us discuss opportunities and identify new tools to bring to our clients. Our final insurance segment has Isabella Bosoky (Vercon) highlighting the business impact of International Desk Managers.

Guest and spouses are then warmly invited to join us for our final guest speaker: Jon Jandai, a Thai farmer and ‘Advocate of Happiness’, will bring a change of scenery and pace to the Conference (do check out his TEDx talk).

The day concludes with our traditional Awards Evening in the venerable Nai Lert Park Heritage Home.

  • Day 4: October 28 - Networking Excursion and Dinner

Three full days will have left us with much to think about and share.

Our relaxed Saturday’s programme is perfect for informal networking: We will take a relaxing boat ride through the canals of Bangkok, learning first-hand why Bangkok was referred to as the ‘Venice of the East’, followed by lunch in an old lychee farm (not to worry, there’s more than lychees on the menu).

We'll be back in the hotel by mid-afternoon with time to freshen up before winding down over dinner.

Price for excursion & lunch: +/- EUR140.00 per person

What’s next?

In the upcoming weeks we will begin to share speaker presentations, in-depth articles on the upcoming topics and some tips & tricks on how to get the most Marketing-Power out of your Conference participation. As always, this information will be published via Horizons, email and of course, the event page and app, so stay tuned.
