Bluewell Insurance Brokers Ltd. (BIB), wholly owned by Sumitomo Corporation (SC), is one of the oldest and most respected insurance brokers in Japan. Located in Tokyo, it has 11 insurance professionals.

Bluewell’s sister company, insurance agency Bluewell Corporation, has four locations in Japan and employs more than 50 insurance professionals.

While the majority of BIB’s revenue comes from reinsurance placement for SC related business, BIB also provides highly qualified property, casualty and marine insurance services to various foreign investors in Japan, in accordance with international standards.

BIB has very strong insurer relationships, not only with all major Japanese carriers, but also with most of the large global insurers.

Since its foundation in 1996, BIB has grown firmly, with commission income jumping from US$3,000,000 in 2004 to US$6,000,000 in 2011.
