Simon Newton - EMEA

Simon Newton has been active on the board of UNiBA Partners since 2001 which was just two years after United Insurance Brokers Ltd (UIB) became a member of the network. He became a full member of the board in 2005. Over that period Simon has taken responsibility for Quality and IT, including the development of our first international reporting system. In 2007 Simon became responsible for European development within UNiBA Partners. He is a regular speaker at IBA meetings.

Simon has a keen interest in all things European and has recently relocated to Geneva to head up UIB’s operation there. He is also a director of UIB International and Chairman of UIB Nordic. Simon started his insurance career in 1981 in the claims area which he believes brings great benefit to clients when creating insurance solutions. His career has given him the opportunity to become involved in most classes of insurance, although marine insurance remains a favorite of his and it was where he started.

Coupled with these responsibilities he has four children spanning a 10 year age range (and one wonderful wife!). He enjoys good food (both his own creations and those of others) and wine, and spends much of his free time in France and Italy with his family and friends.
