Mareen Hüffmeier - Chairman & Executive Director

Mareen joined UNiBA Partners in 1998. She has been on the front-line of developing the network since then. Her responsibilities include the design, development and implementation of strategy, as well as the day-to-day management of the organization. She is closely involved in new partner selection, marketing and all aspects of quality and thoroughly enjoys the sheer diversity of it all.
In 2009, Mareen was also appointed chairman of the board.

As for many brokers, Mareen’s encounter with business insurance was accidental. With little more than an MBA and an unclear idea of what she was embarking upon, she started her insurance career as an International Management Trainee with CIGNA. International insurance has been her field ever since, both on the insurer and broker side.

Mareen sees international business as much as an issue of communication as a technical matter. She is a fervent believer in the importance of quality and trusted business relationships.

Mareen has lived in Germany and the U.S. before moving to Belgium. She enjoys living in slightly seedy, multicultural central Brussels with her teenage daughter, loves music and contemporary art and has recently started the absorbing but rather uphill struggle of learning Aïkido.
