Alfonso was elected to the board in 2009 to take over responsibility for Marketing from Geoffroy Roederer.
Alfonso's original vocation was not insurance broking. He began his professional career with the Spanish subsidiary of AC Nielsen, the influential market research company.
In 2003 Alfonso left his position of Financial Controller Spain & Portugal with AC Nielsen to join Group COTES, a 25 year old, privately owned brokerage firm specialized in industrial risks with very particular know-how in machinery. He is also a former partner in ICC , specialized in credit insurance and Cotes Global Services, a provider of legal services, both active members of the COTES group .
Alfonso also serves on the board of ADECOSE, the largest Spanish insurance brokers association.
A graduate from Madrid’s Complutense University with a degree in Business Administration and Economics, Alfonso also studied International Markets.
During his free time Alfonso likes to combine his passion for racing in classic car events with travelling, particularly to his beloved North Coast of Spain. As a former skiing instructor of the Spanish Wintergames School since 1990, he also tries to spend his winter holidays practicing one of his favorite sports .
